Fit Testing: How to Know Gear Actually Fits

Protection specs assume correct fit, and correct fit has objective tests. For helmets: with the strap fastened, grab the chin bar and try to rotate the helmet — your scalp should move with it. Push up from the rear rim; the helmet should not roll forward off your head. Wear it for a full twenty minutes in the shop, because pressure points announce themselves late.
